The selection of mechanical elements has always been present in any process of design and construction of any machine or component being a very extensive process, this is the importance of computational tools to create through a series of algorithms for the selection of mechanical elements. This article try to harness the information available about the selection processes that have been systematized in software to improve performance of the mechanical parts of information in the context of design, so that it can cope with the increasing complexity in product development related to mechanical systems.
