A method for assessing the oxidation stability of inhibited transformer oils

1. An apparatus has been designed and a test method developed which can be used for making a reliable and comparatively rapid (50–60 h) assessment of the efficiency of various additives and the response of the oils to these additives. 2. Comparative experimental tests have shown that the results obtained for several samples of oils on the “PK” apparatus are in good agreement with those obtained during test bed trials.
