The invention discloses a method and equipment for resource preemption. The method comprises the steps of determining a resource amount required to be released by a cell (any cell) when a load to be preempted in the cell is successfully preempted, and when the condition that the sum of resource amounts capable of being released by all switchable user terminals in the cell is not smaller than the resource amount required to be released by the cell (any cell) when the load to be preempted in the cell is successfully preempted is determined, sequentially switching each switchable user terminal according to an ascending preemption priority level sequence until the total released resource amount obtained after switching is not smaller than the resource amount required to be released by the cell (any cell) when the load to be preempted in the cell is successfully preempted. According to the method and the equipment, during the resource preemption, a terminal switching strategy is considered in a priority manner, and the current business of each terminal can not be interrupted when each terminal is switched, so that the problem in the prior art that the business call drop rate is relatively high caused by the fact that a forced release manner is adopted during the resource preemption can be solved, and then, the effects of lowering the business call drop rate and improving the customer satisfaction are achieved.
