A New Species of Tridens (Poaceae) from Brazil

Abstract A new species of Poaceae from Brazil, Tridens riograndensis Acedo & Llamas, is described and illustrated. Complete morphological and anatomical descriptions are made. The new species can be distinguished from other species of Tridens by possessing glumes with obtuse apices, paleas that are shorter than the lemma, and spiciform panicles. A key to morphologically similar species is offered.
