Survey of hepatitis infection after the implementation of standardized management in hemodialysis patients

2012
Objective Research hepatitis infection after the implementation of standardized management in hemodialysis unit. Methods The object of study is the maintenance hemodialysis(MHD) patients before and after the implementation of standardized management in October 2006 to October 2008,in our hospital blood purification center.Standardized management methods:standardized hemodialysis room layout; to minimize the times of transfusions; single-use dialyzers, vascular access, needle, syringe, pressure transducer; pay attention to staff hand hygiene by a pair of gloves to a single patient; to avoid sharing items between patients; chemical disinfection between two classes of dialysis machines; detect serological hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus regularly;hepatitis virus positive patients should be separated with susceptible patients or have strict quarantine measures; patients with HBV maker negative were given hepatitis B vaccination; patients with HBV-DNA/HCV-RNA positive were given α-interferon treatment.Result Follow-up outcomes of 2 years after the implementation of standardized management measures show that:two new cases of HCV infection and single HBV infection case.Among them, one new cases of HBV infection and HCV infection, respectively in the first year; one new HCV infection case in second year. Conclusion Through standardized management, the chances of hepatitis virus infection can be reduced in hemodialysis patients. Key words: Maintenance hemodialysis;  Hepatitis C virus;  Hepatitis B virus
