Farmland soil nutrient state and applying fertilizer counter-measure in seim-arid sandy area of northwestern Liaoning

Organic substance and N,P,K in farmland soil are low in Zhangwu County,Northwestern Liaoning. There are 45.7 mg/kg of quick-acting N,4.0 mg/kg of quick-acting P,13 mg/kg of quick-acting K,and 21 g/kg of organic substance in the farmland soil.Field results show that the increase of N and P fertilizer application could not obviously enhance the increase of crop output,while the increase of K fertilizer application could,especially in drought year,enable the increase of crop output as high as 45.6%～63.5%.Therefore this also shows that N and P are not main factors for increasing crop output,while K becomes a main factor.In this area,more organic fertilizer and higher proportion of K fertilizer should be applied.
