The invention discloses a mineral foam flotation-oriented embedded foam flow velocity measurement system and a method. According to the embedded foam flow velocity measurement system, an embedded floatation foam collection platform is built, based on foam images that an industrial camera acquires in a mineral flotation process, aiming at the acquired images, preprocessing of the images is completed in a DSP processor, and foam velocity characteristics are extracted by using an analysis method of correlation of image blocks in a current frame and a reference frame. The embedded solution in the invention obtains the foam velocity characteristics by analyzing the foam images as an important reference index of a production state, can reflect the production situation in real time, has the advantages of small size, low cost, low power dissipation and high reliability, and is particularly suitable for an industrial field in which the environment is severe and foam flow velocity is difficult to measure, such as a dressing plant.
