An information recording and playback device (100) is provided with: an input processing unit (116) which acquires a benefit acquisition code for requesting licensing of a copy of content data; a playback control unit (118) which reads out a content ID from an optical disc (310); a communication control unit (114) which transmits the benefit acquisition code and the content ID to a copy management server (200), and receives, from the copy management server (200), copy licensing conditions which indicate conditions which license a copy of the content data to another recording medium from the optical disc (310) and which are associated with the combination of the benefit acquisition code and the content ID; and a recording control unit (120) which, in accordance with the copy licensing conditions, copies the content data to the other recording medium from the optical disc (310).
