The invention provides a high-precision multi-angle face gender identification method. The method includes two steps: generation of a male face gender dictionary and a female face gender dictionary, and newly-input face picture gender identification; step 1, acquiring and classifying male and female face pictures at different angles, obtaining and standardizing a training picture gallery, obtaining a training set, processing the training set by employing the K-Means method, obtaining primary sub-dictionaries, improving the primary sub-dictionaries by employing the K-SVD method, merging the sub-dictionaries according to gender, and respectively obtaining the male face gender dictionary and the female face gender dictionary; and step 2, performing standardized processing of newly-input face pictures the same with the processing of training pictures, obtaining a test vector, obtaining sparse representation vectors respectively based on the male face gender dictionary and the female face gender dictionary, respectively obtaining 1-norms of the two sparse representation vectors, and determining the gender of the newly-input face pictures according to the two 1-norms. According to the method, the accuracy of gender identification is high in the condition of multi-angle faces and the faces with noise interference and shielding.
