Social-aware content downloading for fog radio access networks supported device-to-device communications

2016
Social-aware device-to-device (D2D) communications are seen as promising solutions to satisfy the emerging demand for popular content sharing. In this paper, social relationship strength is considered in a fog radio access network (FRAN) supported D2D communications, which facilitates content sharing among mobile users. Then a non-convex optimization problem of joint content downloading mode selection, beam-forming design, and power control is formulated, aiming at maximizing system utility related to both throughput and social relationship strength. To solve the problem, a branch and bound and weighted minimum mean square error based algorithm is proposed. Simulation results show that the F-RAN with social-aware D2D can effectively improve the overall throughput and alleviate the burden of fronthaul.
