Research on Fish Classification by Using High-Resolution Acoustic Video Camera-ARIS and 3-D Fish Model Simulator

To approve the low matching rate of one template image [1], in this study two 3-D fish model simulators were developed. The first one fixed fish model in the origin point of coordinate system, and with the movement of acoustic video camera ARIS in the space, the backscattering strength's change of fish body's every part could be checked by brightness. The second simulator, which produced 2-D simulation images when fish is in every different positions and angles underwater, provided possibility to compare the simulation images with 2-D real sonar images.
