Raman scattering in striped La 1.475 Nd 0.4 Sr 0.125 CuO 4
2002
We measure the Raman scattering intensity in single crystal samples of ${\mathrm{La}}_{1.475}{\mathrm{Nd}}_{0.4}{\mathrm{Sr}}_{0.125}{\mathrm{CuO}}_{4}$ which is known to exhibit antiphase stripe magnetic/charge order below $T\ensuremath{\simeq}30 \mathrm{K}.$ For Raman shifts $g1000 {\mathrm{cm}}^{\ensuremath{-}1},$ the spectra in all planar polarization conditions show a broad hump which has a very weak temperature dependence. This feature is interpreted as the signature of Raman scattering from spin fluctuations and related to the incipient stripe ordering.
