Patients are often lost to follow-up and are therefore more likely to have a weight regain after surgery. On the other hand, they may be exposed to a lower tight control of their comorbidities, an increase in the number of postoperative complications, and a high level of nutritional deficiencies. In addition, many situations may require special expertise that takes into account the history of bariatric surgery. Patients should benefit a personalized follow- up to maximize the beneficial effects of bariatric surgeries.
