The purpose of this study is to analyze the causes of stress and the influence of deterioration in job ability due to stress among soldiers in the army. The subjects of the study were 366 people from 4 battalions of the army, and the survey period was from August 7 to 10, 2020. The questionnaire was gathered by unit, distributed the questionnaire directly, explained how to fill it out, and collected the questionnaire on the spot. For 21 stress sources, 5 factors were extracted through factor analysis. The stress level of all factors was relatively low, with the average below normal. The order of each factor on stress cause was environmental factor, job factor, executive factor, personal factor, and related factor in order, and by unit, artillery battalion, mechanized battalion, infantry battalion, regional defense battalion were in order, and by rank, corporal group, sergeant group, private group, private group were in order. The average of overall stress level was higher than normal, and the order of the stress level was the same for each unit, but in each rank, the higher the rank, the higher the total stress level. As a result of regression analysis, job factors had the greatest influence. Most of the soldiers responded that the stress relief period took about 1 week, and 58.5% of the soldiers responded that their deterioration in job ability due to stress decreased by 20% to 49%.
