Fluctuation Technique For Hot Phonon Investigation In 2DEG Channels. Is It Better Than Raman

2007
The novel fluctuation technique for measurement of the lifetime of nonequilibrium longitudinal optical (LO) phonons in two‐dimensional (2DEG) channels has lead to the results in a good agreement of with those a posteriori obtained through the time‐resolved LO‐phonon assisted infrared (IR) absorption experiment. The predicted dependence of the lifetime on the electron density is confirmed by the recent Raman data. The fluctuation technique supports experimental investigation of the lifetime dependence on the electron temperature in a voltage biased 2DEG channel, but no IR absorption and Raman datum of this sort is available as yet.
