Проблема влияния сообщений СМи на самоопределение старшеклассников и пути ее решения

The research of a problem of mass media influence upon people has been made since the 1920-s by foreign and domestic scientists. A brief historical description of this research is given in the article. The main functions and characteristics of mass media information are also covered. Data, received during the research which was held among the senior pupils in Penza secondary schools are given. These data show that mass media information influences the professional self-determination of senior pupils. The importance of the correct work organization of the school teachers and psychologists during the period of senior pupils’ self-determination under the mass media influence is shown.
