Engineenng properties of coral soils in Japanese south western islands

This paper describes the engineering properties of the unusual coral soils in Okinawa Islands. The laboratory test results showed that the coral soils have the intermediate properties between sand and clay. By analysing two case histories the practical procedure for design is presented.
