Arranjos na produção habitacional brasileira: alguns pontos fora da curva

The global crisis creates general and specific demands and increasingly asserts the asymmetries and inequalities in societies. In the field of housing production, the study and appropriation of technology and technique can contribute to breaking the cycle of labor force expropriation and domination of the classes that own the means of production. However, historically, with the specialization of labor and the division of disciplines, since the beginning of modernity, technical decisions have been concentrated in the hands of technicians legitimized by a rationality that, in defending the interests of the economic system, subtracts some fundamental criteria to determine the best choices, such as the social division of labor, environmental impacts, the symbolic components present in the inhabited environment, among others. In this article, some technological possibilities in Brazilian housing production are recalled in addition to those of a dominant and hegemonic character. Here, possible practical actions are presented, that may lead other work, future or ongoing, to a condition of technological autonomy, considering specific agendas and problems, in realities that allow the inclusion of actors, others, beyond those legitimized by technical reason.
