areusedinrotorsofthemotors. Inthis paper,steady-state performance ofthenewly made conceptual synchronous motorhavebeenanalyzed. Experi¬ mentshavebeenperformed on the4.25-kWunit tocompare withthetheoretical predictions andtheagreement isfound to beclose. Ithasbeenfoundfromtheprinciples, theanalyses, andtheexperimental results that asynchronous motormade onthebasis ofthenew conception whichiscombined ofFig. 1(a) withFig. 2(a) orofFig. 1(b) withFig. 2(a) can berealized, andthemotorpowerfactor can becontrolled widely by control ofthestatorexciting current, inthenewly con¬ structed conceptual synchronous motor. Ithasalsobeenfoundfromtheanalyses andthetest results thatthesizeofthenewly constructed conceptual synchronous motorcan bemanufactured without expanding thesizeoftheconventional typemotorhaving thesame ratings. Ithasfurther beenfoundfromsome testresults that Fig. 2(b) typerotorwindings whichcan beusedbothas a field winding andan exciting winding can berealized. Itis expected thatsucha motorcan easily besubstituted for traditional cagerotortypeinduction motors, particularly ina scopeofcomparatively large capacities, forinstance 10 ~ 10000kW.We consider there arefurther studies necessary inthis system on thestudy ofapplication ofthefundamental ideatodirect currentcommutatorless motors.
