Analysis of cannabinoids in plants, marijuana products and biological tissues

Abstract The cannabis industry is undergoing a significant change due to the legalization in many countries. This makes it necessary to introduce standard procedures and regulations on the quality of consumer products regarding bioactive compounds. Thus, it is essential to provide reliable and robust analytical tools for the analysis of the content of cannabinoids and terpenes in plants and products. In addition to this, the therapeutic use of these substances also needs methods of analysis of cannabinoids and their metabolites to support the pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic studies. In this chapter, we have compiled the most relevant scientific works of the last 5 years regarding the cannabinoid analysis in plant, consumer products and human biological specimens.
