2012
This study evaluated the prevalence of antimicrobial dispensing for pediatric use in the Basic Health Units, by an administrative region in the municipality of Santa Maria-RS. We analyzed medical records of children aged 6 months to 12 years of age met in March 2011. To collect data we used a survey instrument constructed for this purpose, containing age, sex, pathology, medicine, dosage and treatment time. These designations were given the Basic Unit Basic Centro Social Urbano (A), Basic Unit Kennedy (B), the Family Health Strategy Maringa (C), Basic Unit Itarare (D), Basic Unit Oneide de Carvalho (E) Unit Basic Wilson Paulo Noal (F) and Primary Care Ruben Noal (G). This research revealed that the most widely used antimicrobial in the basic units A, B, C, D, F and G was amoxicillin, and only the basic unit and was azithromycin. Since the main pathology in all Basic Health Units was tonsillitis. Therefore, it is important to inform the health care team about the rational use of antimicrobials, bacterial resistance is therefore one of the consequences of misuse of these drugs, the pharmacist would be needed to promote rational use.
