The article is devoted to the life and work of the outstanding Soviet scientist, academic, and a major organizer of science: A.A. Blagonravov (1894–1975). Blagonravov made a large contribution to the creation of a domestic school of researchers and engineers of machine guns and artillery weapons, to the development of machines and mechanisms for various purposes for the needs of industry, to the development of machine science, and to the study and exploration of outer space.
