Effect of supplementation of enzyme and herbal preparation on growth performance of cockerels

2008
An experiment was conducted to study the effect of supplementation on enzyme and herbal preparation on the performance and carcass traits of cockerel. The chicks were reared on isoproteinic (22% CP) and isocaloric (2900 kcal ME/kg) diets under standard managemental condition for 0–8 weeks of age. The birds were offered six type of experimental ration viz. standard ration (T1 or control); T1 + livol, Indian herb @ 5 g/kg of feed (T2); T1 + livfit + Vet concentrate, Dabur @ 0.5 g/kg of feed (T3); T1 + Digestovet (Vets Pharma) @ 10 g/kg of feed (T4); T1 + Neem leaf powder @ 1 g/kg (T5); T1 + Borozyme (Zeus Biotech Pvt. Ltd.), @ 0.5 g/kg of feed. Feed intake was significantly increased in T6 group although highest amount of feed consumption was observed in T3 group. The highest body weight gain was observed in T6 group which differed significantly (P<0.05) from rest of the groups. The lowest body weight gain was observed in control group i.e., T1. The best FCR and P.I. was observed in T6 followed by T4, T2, T3, T5 and lowest in T1 group. Overall multienzyme supplementation in standard formulated diet gave best result.
