2019
Herpetofauna in Socheong, Daecheong and Baengnyeong islands was investigated from May in 2017 to September in 2018. In total, We recorded 373 individuals from 4 species for amphibian and 59 individuals from 6 species for reptiles. Dominant species was Pelophylax nigromaculatus in amphibians and Gloydius ussuriensis in reptiles. In special, we found Elaphe schrenckii and Kaloula borealis, designated as an endangered species class II by Ministry of Environment of Korea. In this survey, there was no confirmation of any Korean endemic species and invasive alien herpetofauna speices in Socheong, Daecheong and Baengnyeong islands. The constant monitoring would be needed for conservation and management of hepetofauna in Socheong, Daecheong and Baengnyeong islands.
