DCA-TR-based MPP tracking scheme for photovoltaic power enhancement under dynamic weather conditions

Photovoltaic (PV) power generating systems are to be operated at maximum power point (MPP) of PV system under any weather condition using MPP tracker (MPPT). Existing traditional MPPT controllers posses certain demerits such as slow response, low efficiency, short term power losses, poor steady-state and dynamic performance. Hence, to overcome the demerits associated with traditional algorithms, this paper puts forward a novel MPPT scheme based on divide and conquer algorithm with ternary ratio (DCA-TR) for solar power generation. The proposed DCA-TR MPPT scheme has a great converging time, better steady-state and dynamic performance compared to traditional algorithms such as perturb and observe and open circuit voltage (KOC) algorithms. The simulation and experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed MPPT scheme.
