Particle size determination by beta-ray absorption

Abstract A cumulative method for particle size determination has been developed. The mass deposited from a homogeneous suspension is determined by a beta-absorption thickness measurement technique. Experimental tests on some different samples of soil are reported; the results are successfully compared with those obtained using the conventional methods of the Andreasen pipette and sedimentation balance.
