For furthering understanding narrative inquiry and phenomenological research in educa- tion,this paper compares the works of M.Connelly' narrative inquiry and Max van Manen' phenome- nological research in education.It is found that they differentiate in many aspects such as basic the- oretical tradition,ways to approaching experience,and text presentation.
