Development of Q-switched, Nd:host lasers with GRM for diagnostic and LIDAR applications

The criteria followed in the design of resonator equipped with GRM are outlined in view of the application to Nd:host, Q-switched lasers. The influence of the near and far field characteristics of the beam on the applications are discussed. The results achieved with three different lasers systems developed for LIDAR and plasma diagnostic applications are presented.
