SELF CONCEPT AMONG HIGHER SECONDARY STUDENTS IN ERODE DISTRICT

This study is intended to study on Self Concept of Higher Secondary Students in Erode District. The Normative survey method has been adopted to study the Self Concept among Higher Secondary Students in Erode district. The Self-Concept Questionnaire Scale was used for the study. The findings revealed that Tamil Medium students mean score is better than the English Medium students in Self Concept level. To compare the mean scores of Nuclear and Joint family among higher secondary students, Nuclear family students mean score is better than the Joint family students in their Self Concept level. It is because of the fact that students belong to the Nuclear family having more expose to strengthen their Self Concept. There is no significant difference among Government, Government Aided and Private higher secondary students in their Self Concept level. The relevance and importance of Self Concept in the learning period have been sensitized in the present scenario.
