Recent Developments in Quasi-Free Nucleon-Nucleon Scattering

1985
This chapter gives a brief review and discusses some recent results of quasi-free scattering in a way that is understandable for a nuclear physicist without previous knowledge of the subject. This means, of course, that for the details of some theoretical and experimental developments, we have to refer to the literature. We have emphasized the points which we believe to be of more general interest for nuclear physics. As will become clear, quasi-free scattering is one of the most direct ways of investigating both the single-particle properties of a nucleus (its shell structure) and effects on the bound nucleons of their environment in the nucleus.
