Inclusions and their removal methods in magnesium alloys

The inclusions in magnesium alloy have deleterious effect on its performance.It is an important issue how to purify the magnesium alloy during its production.The types and sources of inclusions in magnesium alloy and their damages are reviewed.The removing technologies such as sedimentation purification,flux purification,gas purge,filtering purification and rare earth purification are also discussed.
