Investigation of By-pass Switch Test Circuit for HVAC Series Capacitor

In this paper,the requirements of the type tests of AC series capacitor by-pass switch according to IEC 62271-109—2008 were introduced,and the simulation and analysis results of several test circuit recommended by IEC 62271-109—2008 were compared.The by-pass switch test circuit for 550 kV by-pass switch was provided,and then the experiments performed in XIHARI were introduced.The research results provide the theoretical and experimental base for design of by-pass switch test circuit.
