Picking Aid for Apples and Pears Grown on the Lincoln Canopy System
1988
A water handling system was developed for hand harvesting of fruit grown on the Lincoln Canopy Trellis System into a hydrabin. With a ten-fold decrease in fruit bruising and an increased picking efficiency of 300-800% per picker being achieved, the hydrabin permits a complete cool-chain operation from the field to the packhouse.
