Palladium-Catalyzed Cross-Coupling Reaction of AlArEt2(THF) with Aryl Bromides

Efficient cross-coupling reactions of aryl bromides with AlArEt 2 (THF)(Ar = Ph, 4-MeC 6 H 4 ,4-MeOC 6 H 4 , 4-Me 3 SiC 6 H 4 ,or 2-naphthyl) catalyzed by a catalytic system of 1 mol% Pd(OAc) 2 and2 mol% PCy 3 furnish aryl-aryl couplingproducts. The system works well for a wide range of aryl bromidesregardless of the electronic or steric nature of the substituenton the aryl bromides.
