An exhaustive study of the epoxy application in TM mode dielectric resonator filters

This paper presents a modified way of epoxy application in the TM mode dielectric resonator based filter fabrication. It has been found that quarter cut dielectric resonators in transversal configuration inside a hollow waveguide cavity are quite sensitive to the application of epoxy used for its placement. An exhaustive study has been performed for the judicious application of the epoxy between various joints of a resonator. An improvement of 15% in the realized Q is obtained without compromising the lap and die shear strength of the resonators joints. The simulation results have been validated through the measurements
