Intramolecular mobility of chitozan derivatives in solutions and complexes with polyelectrolytes

1989
It is shown by a spin marker method that the segmental mobilities of chitozan sulphate, chitozan hydrochloride, and the initial chitozan in solutions are rather close and are not the reason for the differences in the viscosity characteristics of solutions of chitozan derivatives. In formation of complexes between chitozan hydrochloride and sodium dextran sulphate and heparin the segmental mobility is sharply decreased and depends on their composition. For the same composition of the complexes the mobility is less with heparin. It is shown by examination under the electron microscope that the formation of complexes between rigid chain polysaccharides in solution results in an increase in particle size.
