The large scale synthesis of unnatural amino acids

The synthesis of unnatural amino acids at commercial scale is increasing in importance. Two methods, based on asymmetric hydrogenation and transaminase enzymes, have been used to prepare this class of compounds at large scale. This paper will describe this two methods.
