Power saving method and device for wifi access point apparatus

Disclosed are a power saving method and a device for a WiFi access point apparatus belonging to the technical field of wireless communication. In the present invention, when reaching a preset maximal connection number of the wireless access point apparatus, changing the working mode of the present wireless access point apparatus, extending the beacon frame transmission period of the wireless access point apparatus, transmitting the beacon frame with a maximal power used by wireless terminals during communications, wherein the wireless terminals are connected with the wireless access point apparatus, stopping responding to any messages transmitted from unconnected wireless terminals, and on the basis of wireless local network channel bandwidth distributed to the wireless terminals connected with the wireless access point or wide area network communication bandwidth obtained by the wireless access point apparatus, determining the sleep time of the wireless local network communication module of the wireless access point apparatus, so as to reduce the power consumption and extend the use time of portable wireless access point apparatus.
