New organometallic catalysts have been developed that promote the reaction of hydroxyl functional polymers with isocyanate cross-linking agents used in CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomers) urethane applications. These catalysts are particularly effective as environmentally friendly alternatives to tin and mercu- ry catalysts. The performance characteristics that these new catalysts can con- tribute include selective catalysis, hydrolytic stability, enhanced pot life in coatings and exceptional reaction profiles in non-coating applications.
