A method and a system for optimizing parameters of a face recognizer or detector by using feedback of a user are provided to recognize a face of a user included in digital data with high accuracy by providing the face recognizer or detector having the parameters, which is optimized according to each user by reflecting a use pattern different from each user through learning using the feedback of the user. A component score calculator(110a) calculates an individual score representing contribution of at least one determination information used for recognizing a face by each candidate included in a database to provide a list of high probable candidates for a first user included in digital data. A total score calculator(110c) calculates a total score of each candidate by calculating and using an individual weight score, which is calculated by multiplying weight assigned to each determination information by the individual score. A top list provider(110d) provides a user with the candidate list including the candidates corresponding to the high total score. A weight applicator(110b) increases the weight assigned to the individual score obtaining the highest score among the individual scores of a person, who is selected as identity of the first person from the candidate list by the user.
