A method of shifting a transmission of a hybrid vehicle

2001
A method of shifting a transmission of a hybrid vehicle (10), a shift is commanded; in which a target torque profile for a total torque to a drive shaft (26) of an automated manual transmission of the hybrid vehicle (10) is determined, and the torques of an internal combustion engine (16) and a motor / generator system (40) based on the target torque profile on the drive shaft (26) are applied to provide the total torque on the drive shaft (26), wherein a torque of the drive shaft (26) of a value is reduced to below zero just before the start of the switching operation; characterized by the steps that is supplied to a pre-set force during disengagement of a gear wheel of a shift fork, when the torque of the drive shaft (26) has been reduced below a calibrated value; the shift fork is controlled to a predetermined force value during the switching procedure, which is the amount of force equivalent, which is necessary to bring a gear of the automated manual transmission under perfect alignment engaged when the shift fork reaches a target position and a rotational speed of the drive shaft (26) has stabilized, and the force at a fixed rate is increased until the engagement is accomplished; and moved back limits both the amount of force that will raise the shift fork, and the duration are determined that this will attempt an intervention, and the shift fork and the engagement is started again when one of these limits is exceeded.
