Detecting and displaying device for abnormality of engine oil level sensor

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of the oil level detection of an oil level sensor by providing an abnormality detecting means and occurrence-of- abnormality displaying means to the oil level sensor. CONSTITUTION:Upon deciding the start of a displaying mode, a microcomputer 11 supplies electric power to an oil level sensor 5 from a battery 6 and detects the level of oil or system abnormality by fetching the variation of the resistance of the sensor 5 as a sensor output. The detected results are inputted to the abnormality detecting means and displaying state control means of the microcomputer 11 and indicated on oil level pilot lamps 13a-13c and system abnormality pilot lamp 14 or an engine oil caution lamp 15 and master caution indication section 20 in a car room. In addition, when the abnormality detecting means detects such abnormality as the disconnection, short, etc., of the sensor 5, the detecting means outputs an abnormality detecting signal to the displaying state control means. The control means indicates the occurrence of the abnormality by blinking the lamps 14 and 15 and making the section 20 to make a system abnormality display.
