Application of Luminescence Spectroscopy in New Materials for Solar Energy Utilization

The theory, requirements, and conditions for massive production of luminescent solar concentrators are presented, and the recent methods of their preparation are outlined. The spectroscopy of lanthanide complexes and tautomeric compounds are presented. The optimal matrix for the luminescent species which is based on sol-gel technology is explained and elaborated. The practical approach for incorporation of luminescent plates in modern buildings for utilizing solar energy is presented.
