Prüfung von Längspressverbindungen : Qualität Längsgepresster Welle-Nabe-Verbindungen mit der Ultraschallprüfung beurteilen

Contribution to the quality assessment. The axial load to press a shaft made of steel into a hub made of steel, cast iron, or aluminum as well as the maximum axial load to shift the fitted hub have been measured. Additionally ultrasonic immersion tests of these fits have been performed in order to get an image of the boundary and to estimate the average hight of the echo reflected from that boundary. The relations between average echo hight and both final press-in load and maximum load for shifting are discussed and formulated within a simple analytical model. It is shown that the ultrasonic technique can in principal be used to predict the load for shifting, which otherwise can only be obtained destructively by means of sample tests.
