In the Rumbuli Forest

The Rumbuli Forest is in the vicinity of Riga, the capital of Soviet Latvia. In November and December 1941, the German Nazis and the Latvian fascists slaughtered most of the population of the ghetto in Riga, some 25–35,000 people, and later executed many thousands of other prisoners. In recent years, this forest became a place of pilgrimage for many jews in this area.
