Application and Economical Evaluation on Light Steel Residental Houses

Because of their main features, such as low weight and high strength, the superior seismic resistance and reusable, light steel residental houses are widely employed. Based on the research about the light steel residental houses, this paper discusses some detailed knowledge involving concept of structural system, cladding system and cost. By designing a three stories steel project, it is concluded that the steel frame system and WEB light gauge steel joist sytem meet the requirements of the design codes. It is demonstrated from the results of economical evaluation that the cost of the steel frame system is about 26% lower than WEB system.
