Information Differentiation in the Information Society: From the Perspective of All Stages of Human Information Activities

With the rapid development of the information society, the phenomenon of information differentiation caused by the gap of information resources has also emerged. To explore the influencing factors of information differentiation is of great significance for governments to reduce the degree of information differentiation. The existing researches only focus on the part of information activities. To solve this problem, this paper measures the information social status from the perspective of the whole process of information activities. Information differentiation is the embodiment of social differentiation in the information society, and the traditional social differentiation factors will affect information differentiation to some extent. This paper discusses the impact of stratification index of social stratification theory and age stratification theory on individual status in the information society. From this, we can conclude the key factors affecting the degree of information differentiation, which is conducive to the government to take measures to construct the information society and promote social equality and sustainable development.
