A mathematical model of global demographic processes with regard to the spatial distribution

1998
An attempt is made to use a synergetic approach to analyze the growth of population and describe a number of paradoxical facts: the stability of the law of population growth over a long period, the oscillating nature of the behavior of certain parameters of the system, a decrease in the characteristic time of processes (scaling), and the limited applicability of the law of growth in the past and at the present time. On the basis of the model constructed, a number of consequences and possible scenarios of the evolution of humankind are suggested, and problems are formulated that extend the synergetic approach and concern both the quantitative and qualitative description of demographic processes.
