The invention relates to a method for determining a concentration of at least one material in a powder mixture (14), wherein as a starting material for the production of a component (28), in particular a component of a turbomachine, is used in an additive manufacturing method comprising at least the steps of: - providing the powder mixture (14) with at least two different materials; - performing a means of a radiation source (16) high energy beam generated (20) over a surface (18) of the powder mixture (14); - detecting at least a brightness value of at least one means of the high energy beam (20) the illuminated portion of the surface (18) during the irradiation with the high energy beam (20) by means of a detection device (36); - determining the concentration of at least one material in the powder mixture (14) in dependence on the detected at least one brightness value and from at least one predetermined reference brightness value for the concentration and / or a range of concentrations of the material by means of an evaluation device (38). Furthermore, the invention relates to a method of operating a production device (10), a manufacturing apparatus (10) and a component of a turbomachine.
