392 GHz THz vector signal generation based on ISB and multi-frequency signal generation using cascaded phase modulator and I/Q modulator

Abstract We propose a novel scheme to generate THz signal based on cascaded phase modulator and I/Q modulator. We experimentally demonstrate 392-GHz THz vector signal generation based on this scheme. Our scheme has these advantages such as dispersion-immunity, good flexibility in frequency and modulation. In our experiment, we realized the THz fiber-wireless link at 392-GHz transmitting 18.4-Gbaud QPSK signal or 4-Gbaud 16QAM signal with BER less than 2.0 × 10 −2 , the third generation FEC threshold.
